What helped a lot was that I had a photographer take pictures of me specifically for my profile, before that it was difficult to get anyone's attention. You don't really have to pay someone, you can tell a friend of yours to take you pictures with a good camera, and take a lot of pictures. Out of 100 pictures maybe you'll end up picking 8 or so.
